A Night of Music with Leyla McCalla

On Friday, September 22nd at 6:00 p.m.  You are invited to join FFCC for the musical performance of Leyla McCalla.  As described by the ECCA, Leyla is a Haitian-American who sings in French, Haitian Creole and English, she plays cello, tenor banjo and guitar. Deeply influenced by traditional Creole, Cajun and Haitian music, as well as by American jazz and folk, her music is at once earthy, elegant, soulful and witty - it vibrates with three centuries of history, yet also feels strikingly fresh, distinctive and contemporary.

A portion of the proceeds from the evening are being donated to FFCC for the building of a vocational school in Haiti.  FFCC will have a table set-up to highlight our work in Haiti and ways people can join us. We are inviting some of our Haitian immigrant friends from south San Diego to join us and to meet  Leyla.

It promises to be an inspiring evening.  We hope you can join us!  To purchase tickets click here.  Please remember to include the promo code "FFCC" when purchasing by phone or online. Contact Tina Socha at tina.socha@ffccsd.org with any questions.  Invite your friends!
